1. Information Manyplace handles
Browser, installation, and account. Manyplace creates a cryptographic key instead of asking for an email address or password. In the desktop app, its private half stays in your operating system’s credential store. On the web, a non-exportable private key stays in your browser’s local site storage. Manyplace receives the public half, a generated account identifier, authentication records, account status, and related timestamps. A browser identity is separate from a desktop-app identity, is tied to that browser profile, and may be lost if you clear site data or use another browser or device.
Profile and presence. You provide a display name and may add a photo, the city or area where you are now, and the country you are from. When you enter a room, we handle your chosen room, seat, activity, device timezone, presence times, and interactions such as gestures or reactions. Other people in the same room can see your profile, activity, local time derived from your timezone, and live presence unless a block applies.
Screen and shared watching. The web version lets you play YouTube videos on the Quiet Vale Screen. Successful recent selections, including the video's YouTube identifier, title, channel, and live status, are kept locally in your browser. Share with room is on by default, can be switched off before or during playback, and remembers your choice in that browser. While it is on, people currently visible in the same room can see the video's title and channel, a thumbnail loaded using its YouTube identifier, whether it is live, playing, or paused, and a sampled playback position and time so they can choose to watch with you. This live watching state is stored with your room presence and is cleared when you turn sharing off, stop or fail playback, leave, or the Screen is torn down.
Product-action analytics. We record a small, fixed set of deliberate product actions in our own database, such as opening or starting the Screen, selecting from the catalogue, recents, or a link, pausing or stopping, changing mute or room-sharing state, watching with somebody, and changing room-audio mute state. These records include the action, time, your account identifier, and—only for a video selection—the source category and catalogue shelf when applicable. They do not include YouTube identifiers, URLs, titles, channels, thumbnails, pasted text, exact playback or volume values, messages, profile content, page views, general click streams, or session replay.
Safety information. Blocks, reports, and moderation actions may contain account identifiers, the room and time, report category, an optional note, and snapshots of the reported person’s visible name, activity, and photo. We also keep records needed to enforce suspensions and prevent repeated evasion.
Technical and local data. Our infrastructure and providers process connection and request information needed to deliver and secure the service, which may include IP address and timestamps. The app and web version keep preferences and recent room or profile details on your device or browser. The website also stores your sound-entry and Screen-sharing preferences and the browser key described above. We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
2. Why we use it
We use information to authenticate your browser or installation; show your profile and presence; operate rooms, reactions, shared watching, blocking, and reporting; save your settings; understand whether core Screen and audio controls are useful and working; deliver and secure updates; diagnose reliability problems; enforce our Terms; prevent abuse and ban evasion; respond to requests; and comply with law. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
4. Retention and deletion
We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes above. Product-action analytics are kept for no more than 90 days and are deleted sooner when the associated account is deleted. Shared Screen information follows live room presence rather than the analytics retention period and is cleared as described above. Local Screen recents are limited to 20 and remain in that browser until displaced by newer recents or you clear its site data.
Deleting your account removes your public profile, stored photo, active sessions, and associated product-action analytics. To stop deletion from bypassing blocks or bans, we retain a hidden account and installation identifier and may retain safety records, including blocks, reports, bans, and moderation history, as needed to protect the service, resolve disputes, and comply with law. Resolved report details may be minimized over time. Backups rotate on an operational schedule, and a report copy already delivered to Discord may remain there under Discord’s retention practices.
5. Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, block or unblock people, switch Share with room off before or during Screen playback, clear local Screen recents by clearing the browser's site data, and delete your account from Manyplace. Optional profile fields can be left blank. You can also ask us to access, correct, delete, or provide a copy of information associated with you, or object to certain handling, where applicable. Email contact@realitium.co. We may need information that reasonably verifies the request and your browser or installation identity.
6. Security, transfers, and age
We use safeguards designed for the nature of the service, including encrypted transport, restricted infrastructure access, signed authentication, and sanitized image processing. No system is completely secure. Manyplace is operated from and hosted in the United States, so information may be processed there even if you use the service elsewhere.
Manyplace is for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used Manyplace, contact us.
7. Changes
We may update this policy as Manyplace changes. We will post the revised policy here, update its effective date, and provide additional notice when a change is material and the law requires it. Questions can be sent to contact@realitium.co.
